Condolences

Condolence From: Loretta O’Brien
Condolence: Thinking of your family in the loss of your wonderful Mom. She was perhaps my Moms first friend at Meadowcreek and they built a kinship of mutual respect and caring. I too considered her a friend and enjoyed our daily chats, We shared a common bond as wives of sailors, who actually both sailed the John Cabot, albeit many years apart. We shared many laughs and a few tears reminiscing together. She was always delighted to hear my ship was in port I am priveledged to have known her. She will be remembered fondly by us both Loretta O’Brien and Mom, Abbie Dawe

Condolence From: Susan
Condolence: We had a long history with Edna and Randell. Both families (John and Theresa Butler) moved to Newfoundland from Nova Scotia at the same time in 1965 so that Randell and our father could take up new jobs on the John Cabot. We called Mr Barnes The Bear. As children we were often in their compay. They even joined us in celebrating our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Edna was the last of the group to pass away. We connected again in the last couple of years as my parents moved to Meadowcreek where Edna was residing. Edna was a lovely lady. I know my parents would have wanted me to pass on condolences in person; however, I am currently out of the country and not able to do so. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Take comfort in the time you had with your parents. Susan (Butler) Cardoulis

Condolence: To Mrs. Barnes’ family We were saddened to hear of her passing. She was such a sweet, gentle lady. I lived across the hall from her in Meadow Creek. My two daughters would visit and they’d never bring flowers or chocolate roses for me without having some for Mrs. Barnes. She loved to receive their hugs and kisses. She always had a smile for everyone. Meadow Creek just won’t be the same without her but we know she’s in a better place. She’ll be in our hearts & prayers. Olga J. Barnes, Mary Dawe & Ann Barrett

Condolence From: Sharon & Roger Learning and Laura
Condolence: At present I am feeling a very sad loss..Edna was a very special lady and during her time spent at her " home" in Meadowcreek as she would tell me we connected right from the beginning especially when Randell was on the scene..there would be those days I would pop in to see my mom ( Laura) and Edna would be a face I'd always greet. We'd have the greatest chats..old times ..new stuff on the go...she'd worry so much about her health..and told me many times this was home to her now and she was comfortable living here.....I will miss her terribly..somehow there are those we connect with right from the BEGINNNG....and Edna was one..my tears now are that she is in a place of peace and contentment...and that Randell now has his friend and partner returned to him..my thoughts and prayers shared with my husband Roger and my mom are extended to the whole family. Know that her light still shines brightly in our hearts ...that's where we all store beautiful menories..RIP beautiful lady..
