Condolence: I send my sincere condolences to you all. Don always made me feel good in his presence. I witnessed his positivity soothe cranky souls. I was blessed to not only have him as a family member but also as my English professor at MUN. I remember my papers covered in red ink. He challenged his students to be better. When my father passed, he took care of things for me at MUN, so I could return to school. I will never forget that. Kind, beautiful man. Thank you, Don, for your wisdom and for your love for all of those lives you touched.

Condolence: My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Bartlett. I was a student of his in many courses in the 1980s. Dr. Bartlett was a terrific teacher, serious, challenging, focused on each student's strengths, thoughtful, warm, encouraging, kind, funny and fair. To this day, whenever I hear the term 'story line', I can hear Dr. Bartlett's voice, 'Story line is not a literary term, common usage does not make it so!' He also frequently encouraged us to look for the character's 'badge', in his distinctive voice, with a sustained stress, 'baaadddgge'. He was a gentleman and a scholar and I shall always remember him. May he rest in peace.
