Harold passed peacefully away at home, 29 Sunrise Ave, Mt. Pearl, in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Leaving to celebrate their many wonderful memories are his wife Grace (Hiscock), son Kenneth (Sandra Tilley, deceased) and their children Henry and Amelia; daughter Valerie Hollett Fish (Jim Benzacar) her children Jessica Raso ( John Doyle- Raso) and their children George and Dorothy; Ruthie Fish, Isaac Fish, Elliot Fish (son Jaxon Stapells), and their father Dr. Joel Fish; daughter Diane Hollett (Brian Babb) her children Eli and Josie Tiller and their father Sean Tiller; son Dr. Peter Hollett (Glenda O’Reilly) and their children Abby, Maggie, and Sophie Hollett; and son Phillip Hollett (Elizabeth Whelan) and their children Malcolm, Camilla and Cecilia Hollett; his sister Margaret Noble (John deceased), Sister–in-law Jean Hollett (Ronald deceased) Sisters in-law and Brothers-in-law: Jean (Hiscock) and Wulf Stender, Harold Hiscock, and Joseph O’Brien (Ruth Hiscock deceased).

Predeceased also by parents Senator Malcolm Hollett and Lucy Maud (White), Sister and brother-in-law Mary and Richard Godown, daughter-in-law Sandra Tilley, parents-in-law William Hiscock and Elizabeth (Stead), brother-in-law and sister in-law Bill Hiscock and Carol Cantwell and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Grateful thanks to Harold’s niece and family doctor Dr. Jennifer Stender (Eric Pike), many other nieces and nephews; long time friends Dr. Chuck and Julia (Hiscock) Hobeika, Dr. Edward and Alice (Green) Moulton and Jim and Phyllis Piercey, Mary Whelan, Grace Tilley, Sharon O’Reilly, Abe and Marcy Fish, and Eric and Millie Badcock.

Harold moved from his birthplace Collins Cove, Burin, to Bell Island and Grand Falls then to St. John’s where he attended Prince of Wales College, Memorial University and later the University of Toronto. Harold’s career in Social work started in St. John’s and he later moved to Health and Welfare Canada as District Manager, Income Security Programs. Harold was active in the community as a Cub-Scouts leader, active parent for his children’s sports teams, member and past treasurer of First United Church Mt. Pearl, and a member and Past Master of Westmoreland Masonic Lodge.

Harold’s family wishes to thank nurses Kelly Ralph and Heidi Macnab, the personnel from Catalyst Health Solutions, and Rosemore Homecare for their kind assistance over the past weeks.

Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. Mt. Pearl from 7-9 pm Thursday, May 17, and 2-4 and 7-9 Friday May 18.The funeral will be from First United Church Park Ave Mt. Pearl, at 11 am Saturday, May 19. Burial at the Anglican Cemetery on Kenmount Rd. All are invited to a reception to follow at First United Church, Mt. Pearl.
