Obituary for Robert J. Knight

Robert J. Knight
On May 8, 2018 a gracious man, Robert J. Knight, age 93 surrounded by his family, left this earth. It is of great sadness our Dad, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend passed away. Dad was a kind and patient man to all that had the pleasure to know him. Dad is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (2002); his two infant children; his mother and father Leonard & Ethel Knight; his 6 sisters; and 2 brothers. He will be sadly missed by his children Beverly (David) Lester, Jean (Jack) Dillon, Thelma (Keith) Larkin, Leonard (Rose) Knight, Robert (Anita) Knight, Joanne (David) Hipditch, Terry (Cheryl) Knight; Grandchildren Sherri (Chris) Martin, Krista (Mark) Conroy, Tracy Lester, Chris (Kelly) Dillon, Kim (Danny) Mullins, Annette (Neil) Rumsey, Steven (Sammi-Jo) Larkin, Nichole (Adam) Knight, Colin (Laura) Hipditch, Evan (Sarah) Hipditch, Jenelle Hipditch, Dana (Taylor) Knight, and Ethan Knight and 10 Great-Grandchildren; special card-playing buddy Francis Prowse; his in-laws Patricia Knight, Shirley Barnes, Mable Spurrell, Don & Florence Spurrell and many nieces, nephews and friends. The Knight family would like to say a special Thank-You to the staff at Hillcrest Estates, Masonic Park Nursing Home and the Veterans Pavilion for all the care given to our Dad. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 6pm-9pm and Monday, May 14 from 11am-9pm. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday, May 15 at 11am. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Dad’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Dad’s famous saying “I’m not complaining, just explaining”.
