Obituary for Major Marjorie Burton

Major Marjorie Burton
Major Marjorie Burton – Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Edith Burton; brothers: Ronald and Reginald; sister Evelyn. Leaving to mourn Brother Sterling (Marion) Burton and cherished friend Dawn Winsor, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephew, other relatives and close friends. Marjorie will be fondly and forever remembered for her quick wit, love of music and one of the best entertainers. She loved her garden and trout fishing “always after the elusive Big One!”. Marjorie really enjoyed berry picking when she went to Twillingate to visit family in the summer. It was certainly one of her favourite pass times. Major Marjorie Burton’s spirit of joy radiated from a life of sincere and devoted service to the Salivation Army and she had endeared herself to all who knew her. She was also a valued member of the Legionnaires.
Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, September 28th from 7pm-9pm and Friday, September 29th from 10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.
